Default 80psi at idle

Hello, i have had a problem with what seemed to be fuel cut at 5000rpms so i took my turbo setup off to find out what the deal was. I left the 450 injectors in with the safc and at 5krpm the a/f guage would go lean. I decided to check my fuel pressure and it was at 80psi. ---- thats high. i changed the fpr and also to the return line off and ran it into a bucket. still 80psi. i finally change the filter still 80 psi but no more lean at 5k. whats up with the 80 psi it seems to be running rich all the way up now but 80 psi at idle seems to me to be high. by the way i was once known as t.locrx but somehow i forgot my password and couldnt get another one sent

What car/engine? Stock Pump? Stock regulator? Where is your gauge plumbed in at? (before rail, right after rail)
Do you get 80psi at prime, or only at idle?
Desribe how your gauge reacts if you do a low rpm roll on in gear and pull to upper rpms. (assuming an incar gauge...heheh)
Stock is 38ish psi pressure BTW....

Weird, sounds like either blockage after the rail, in the return line, or you have a FPR cranked all the way.

What kind of FPR? I just pulled one off my car that was stuck at 75 lbs. It used to adjust just fine but after a while it just sat at 75 lbs.

Sometimes those springs stick. You will be lucky if you didn't damage the injectors. Does the car idle good?

But yeah, we need to know what we are dealing with here. Car, engine, aftermarket parts, date of birth, pics of your girlfriend, sister, mom....etc,etc... jk

BTW I blew the ---- out of my old injectors. I set the fpr to 110 psi on accident and drove around for a while wondering why my car was running so rich all of the sudden. Then it started idleing funny. By the time I figured out what the fuel pressure was set at it was too late. My car wouldn't even idle.

if 75 psi kills them then FMU's would be killing them left and right. Good to know that they fail at 110 good to note for FMU users that if there fuel pressure is gonna get that high they need to run a smaller disk or run lest boost.

Well its a little different when you are running a constant high pressure on them(110 in my case). When your car is not under a severe load it will build up and put allot of pressure on the injectors which will eventually kill them. When you use a fmu it will only give you the higher pressure while under a load and since your motor will be sucking the gas up it won't hurt the injectors.

my setup is a d16y8 450cc injectors, safc, stock fuel rail, tried weapon r, vortech, and stock 2 different stock fpr and all said 80psi give or take 1psi or so. tried to take the return line off and ran it to a bucket to make sure the return was not clogged and still 80psi. not sure if it goes higher above 6krpm cause i dont have a fuel pressure guage in the cockpit i used a fuel pressure tester kit and tapped into the line off the filter. even tried both lines and 80psi both ways. according to the tester kit it should have been at 37-42 i think it said.

Maybe I've missed it but have you said if you have a stock or aftermarket pump?
