Not if you're smarter than a brick. The 42 a/r of a "42/48" is the compressor. That would mean the 48 is the turbine side. Now, if you put a 60 compressor on a 48 turbine, then you would have a 48/60. Ring the bell, school's in sucka.

hahaha I also thought that the exhaust side was the smaller side for faster spoolup. I guess school really is in session

Wait. How does the compressor now work as the exhaust? Or is it 42/48 (cold/hot) and 48/60 (hot/cold)? Are they switched? Man, I'm confused.

ok i kno im a new person to turbo stuff but my question is.... if you are boosting 10 psi with a small turbo it will be the same amount of air as boosting 10 psi with a huge turbo the only diff is the lag. if the small turbo can hold the peak boost he wants then y not use that turbo. explain this to me if im wrong.

10psi with a smaller turbo is not 10psi with a larger turbo. The larger turbo will flow more cfm than the smaller turbo causing the lag since it needs more exhaust gas to spool. Thats basiclly it in a nutshell

Josh, your crx had a 48/60 on it, and your integra had a bigger turbo. (for about a minute) :P Your high horse has short legs.

Have you personally done this? Is there a tech article on it? Would ANY .60 compressor housing fit? I'm REALLY interested in doing this. If you get me some more info or point me in the right direction I'm willing to try it and maybe to a write-up.
