Its got 8.0:1 compression and head studs so its not completely stock, but we'll see what happens

so what is stock about your bottom end?
are you running stock sleeves w/ forged pistons/rods?

stock sleeves/pistons/rods. I'm just going to ignore the internet myths and rumors and see what she's got

Why is it funny?? I have a ton of spare motors so its not like its a big deal if it blows. Just cause internet rumors say they can only handle 220hp doesn't make it true.

a few things.
did you mean toda or toga? toda makes absoutly nothing for the D series.

and if that guy has 500hp, looks like i am not that far away. a shot and a good head and im there

i'm all for disproving "rumors" but have you ever looked at a d-series bottom end?
they're puny... i really seriously doubt you'll make 500whp; iirc there are only a handful of 300whp d's out there on stock bottom ends. Heck; 500hp is getting on up there in the world of forged internals.

But if you make 500hp and prove us all wrong then more power to ya and if you do it for more than one dyno run you'll be god of all things D

I never said 500 I said 300hp. It'll blow on the track way before I'd blow it on the dyno. I care more about performance than painting pretty curves on a dyno.

To me it really doesn't matter that there's only a handful of 300hp D's out there, hopefully I'll be apart of that handful. Yeah I know what the bottom end of a D-series looks like but did you ever do the math on the actual stresses that a d-series undergoes? The tensile strength of a d-series rod spinning at 8000rpm's is still more than the compressive force of 15 pounds of boost. Look at the physics of a boosted motor and you'll see that its not that crazy of an idea, people just have this predisposition that stock rods break at 220hp and ringlands break at a certain psi and its just stupid to make a relationship between hp, psi and breaking points

oh hmm; i read 500hp i thought; my bad.
and i'll bet you can make 350-400chp out of that thing; provided you get the tune perfect and there isn't even a hint ot detonation. One little ping at those power levels and your ringlands will be swimming in your oil
I hate stock honda pistons and their weak ringlands; i busted 3/4 of them on my last z6 pushing no more than 200whp. but my tune was ---- and i didnt care
