4age set up questions?
 

Just picked up a 85 ae86 gts yesterday w/ rebuilt 4age 30k rebuilt rear end all new fluids act stage 1 clutch kit w/ act streetlite flywheel for 2100 - * im out of portland some mite of saw this car on cl *
i figured this is a good turbo chassi cause its stock 1.5 way lsd nice stiff suspension and handles like a dreem..

i did pik up a 50 trim garret cause im not planning on boosting no more then 1 bar

and i was looking does any one think i can make an adapter plate for turbo and external wg w/ a stock 4age e/m .. if any one has done it please send me pics



but theese are the parts i picked up this morning for my a b1 longblack i had for my 92hb


Tial fr 38mm wastegatew/ .45,.5,1 bar springs basicaly brand new
rc 550cc injectors used
Golden Eagle Vaccum Manifold used
garret 50trim rebuilt bye blaast w/ 2k on it
ssautochrome fmic - new
bunch of random 2.5 inch mandrel bends
and a box fuel of random couplers and like 4ft vaccum line - some used vaccum line new
and a brandnew oil feed line



i only picked these ups cause there basics to a kit the knowledge i mostly need engine management and manifold .. i was thinking safc for the time being but i would way rather go with a basemap and tune

so if u have any input go ahead i kno im prly gna get flamed so go for it dnt matter 2 me i love my car and im going to get this ---- done..


i also got an extra 4age block and head with the car the pistons look great barley any carbon at all just a lil bit on 2 and 3 ... rotates great and heads torn apart .. so if any bodys interested make off wiling to seperate im in portland

An SAFC doesn't work with the AFM in the 86's. Best bet is to go megasquirt. They actually make a plug and play harness now for the 86's harness cause it's used so much on them. I'd say just get the ebay T25 manifold for the corolla cause the there really isn't that much room to make something using the stock exhaust manifold.

for sure thats good info 2 know... how hard is it 2 tune with megasquirt tho? and how many tuners are out there ?

Start calling up tuners/dyno shops and ask around who works with Megasquirt. There's isn't anything for the US 86 ecu to chip it. But you could find a JDM map sensor setup/ecu and then use a piggyback setup. That way you can ditch the AFM setup and simplicity of a map sensor. But for the price of what those go for just go megasquirt. Start looking on club4ag.com or just check out the megasquirt forum. YOu can use the stock AFM and then run the 4AGZE injectors and give the AFM a few clicks. People have gotten some pretty good results with just the stock electronics. I'd stick with something smaller like a T25 on that 4ag.

No way T25 is a piece of ----, go with a Holset or nothing at all :6

one question ... y couldnt i run my bllaast rebuilt garret t3.. it spooled fine with my d series?

boosted is all I care ;D I hate non turbo 4 cyl, sound like ass.
