How's that Megasquirt fuel management working out for you? I'm planning on using that fuel management for one of my projects so I was wondering if you had alot of problem with it, if its easy to work with, or what...

Can you give us more details on your sweet ride such as suspension modifications? Thanks.

SWEET RIDE! ;D

Re:4AG turbo dyno results

man, that is a sweet ride, more details would be great. how the hell did that fall under a stock class for auto x?

Re:4AG turbo dyno results

thanks- it was a about a year long project. most everything needed to be done from scracth as there are no kits for the 1st gen mr2.

On the engine the only significant upgrade were some nice +1mm oversized stainless valves from TED components, some head cleanup work, ARP studs and bolts everywhere, and all was balanced/blueprinted.

Walbro 255lph fuel pump, supra 7MGTE 430cc injectors, ford probe turbo intercooler, 1G BOV, Aeromotive FPR.

I went with ground control coil overs with Koni adjustable struts; I chose the spring rates front and back to balance the car, and left the stock swaybars. All urethane bushings throughout.

The megasquirt works great- I got a hold of a friends boosted config file and started with that. also borrowed a wideband to make sure my WOT was safe. there's a program called MSTweek3000 that analyzes data logs and makes changes to your fuel curve.

--- The wheels are Lenso VPD's. The autocross class is called "Open Street" OS

I think that looks wicked hot, you ever run it in the quarter? Keep up the good work.

Re:4AG turbo dyno results

Not yet. I need to get a LSD installed before I do that. right now I have to back off a lot before it hooks up.

with 225 at the wheels and a 2300 lb car, what should I be able to expect?

Re:4AG turbo dyno results

i say high 13's is a good decent goal to look forward to. that exhaust looks like its loud! anyways, that ---- is clean. i like the wheels and just the fact that you turbo'd that bitch! didnt those year mr2's come with a supercharger?

Re:4AG turbo dyno results

Yes there was a S/C'd MR2 back then, but it still wasn't anything special...

This is the first 1st gen MR2 I'd own, great job !!!

Pics with the engine in the car ??

Its gotta be a dangerous little car !!!

Only thing better would be a ferio with a buick grand national motor, hehe...

Re:4AG turbo dyno results

the 4A-GZE was actually the supercharged block... 4A-GE was the N/A version afaik.

Ahhh, think I've seen you auto'xn before at Boeing. Looks good dude, with 225whp in a 2300lb car, with good traction high 12's shouldnt be a problem.

Re:4AG turbo dyno results

I just picked up a freshly rebuilt tranny with a Kaaz LSD in it- never been run. It was a lucky find for me and a really good price.

Now I should be able to get all my power down in the corners! No more spinning tires.

High 12's huh? I'll have to see this summer. Never drag raced before.

I've been playing with a ball and spring boost controller - the DSM t25 is really spikey, so I'm having problems getting it set right. set the spring too hard, and it quickly boost spikes too high- too low and it's just like how it is normally.

Maybe I should just wait for my turbo upgrade- I'm looking at a GT28RS with a .64 A/R on the turbine- ATP turbo told me this should help spoolup for the lower RPMs.

Re: 4AG turbo dyno results

For anyone else looking to do MegaSquirt on a 4ag or particularly a MKI MR2 check out this article... Jamesl from the mr2oc.com boards worked this solution out to run the MS as a PnP replacement to the stock ECU. Other's have used this doc to replace other Toyota ECUs in a similar manner.

I've been running my 86 MR2 exactly like this since January and loving it... I'm now selling a ton of these things in kit form and assembled and trying to make sure people know this type of PnP install is often possible. Just takes someone to do the homework to make the magic happen. If anyone knows of any similar PnP-type docs for the MS on different vehicles/engines let me know and I'll link to it from my site.
