i have a 1991 corolla i will be turboing soon and i have a few questions. i am trying to use the stock manifold and i have cut it off above the O2 sensor housing, if i mount the turbo there will it still return oil to the pan safely? i am using a TDO4 turbo, what size injectors will i need? i dont really care about horsepower numbers here, this is more of a learning experience than anything.

 

Use 4agze injectors an some kind afc if you want to go the cheap route. If not get megasquirt.

 

are there any other more common injectors that will work just as well? i plan on using an afc for now and later on upgrading to megasquirt.

 

DSM 450's drop right in. You'll need to solder in clips and resistors, but they work.

 

i think im gonna use the DSM 450s then. what about the oiling problem? from the top of the manifold to the flange where the turbo mounts it is 6.5 inches.

 

the place where you plug you oil drain to the oil pan shouldnt be higher than the oil outlet of your turbo plus you wont want any kinks in the line.. take some pics showing the manifold and turbo approximatley where they'll be and we can can give you an idea about that or just figure out yourself

 

i thought that as long as the turbo was higher than the pan it should be ok, but someone told me it wouldnt work so i wanted to make sure.lol.
