3rd Gen Rx7 kit

Currently have a 93' rx7 TT. Looking to either upgrade sequential turbos to larger or one big turbo like a T-78 or something. Let me know what you guys think.

sequential turbo's will cost ya more money unless you can find bolt ons that will directly fit and will produce as much power as the T-78 will give ya.
there isn't much advantage toa TT setup when you'r going bigger...maybe different power charactaristics, but power output wouldn't be much of a difference.

yea, i think im goin with the single upgrade. Plus i can do away with all that wasted space. Can anyone help me out with finding a good deal on a t-78, manifold and wastegate. Im trying to copy the greddy t-78 kit but just with a better price and slightly better parts like the wastegate and manifold. Trying to get custom IC/piping done. So if anyone can help me out i would appreciate it. T

Go with the single turbo setup. The twin is way harder to work on and it eliminates alot of mazda's overengineering. It is very important to upgrade the ECU and cooling in the rx-7's. I also envey you.. but spend your money wisely with the rx-7.. people think of them as regular cars.. they aren't. Balance is important in terms of upgrading everything.. I don't recomend doing it yourself unless you are very mechanically competant

if you haven't joined the rx7 forum yet (www.rx7forum.com), i suggest you do it right now! There is a single turbo forum where people like you that want to learn about going single can get help from people like me that have already done it :)

Rotarys are not know for there low end toruqe thats why mazda came up with the twins, when you go single your car will be a totaly different beast. The T78 is a great kit, but your really going to want to port your engine if you go with it. If you dont want to buy greddy's kit, OBX (i think) has started making a pretty nice tublar manifold for the FD's, best i can remember its around $500.

Check around on the rx7forum there are some newer turbo, like the t51 and the gt3540 that will either give you quicker spool or higher top, so you've got some choices. I've got a single turbo'd FC so I'm not to on top of that the FD guys are doing :)But i'm sure you can find what your looking for there. But I warn you now, big power cost big bucks. I'm up to around 4k already and I still dont consider myself done.

Also check out www.nopistons.com . Lots of god info there. But yeah definatly cooling system upgrades are very important on second gen and newer Rx7's. Lot's of little things you can do with all turbo FC's or FD's that can make lots of power. I too have a single turbo FC so I dunno what the 3rd gen guys do either. :-\
