3800 GM V6 single turbo possible?

is it possible to run a single big turbo off of a v6? i havent seen any mani's that would accommodate that anywhere plus all the good stock turbo cars are inline. or will i have to go TT smaller turbos and a y pipe into the intercooler? the car is a 1997 pontiac gran prix SE

Its possible with a custom crossover pipe, but you'd be better off just grabbing the wiring, computer and engine from a supercharged 3800 in a GTP. All the mounts will bolt up. Then you have a 240hp starting point that can easily be bumped up with a smaller pulley and simple exhaust mods.

we did a single turbo on a V6 SHO. we originally used a grand national turbo but the whole kit got upgraded to a huge ass T04. I'll try to get some pics

Yeah I was just going to tell you, a v6, especially @ 3.8L will have no problem spooling up a large t4. Go for a single like that, especially if the car is single exhaust already. If it's a dual exhaust, then I'd go twin turbo just to keep it true dual. Otherwise, it's up to you. Either two smalllll turbos (like 2x ihi-rb5 / or stock mitsu eclipse turbos) or one big one.

Good luck.

The Buick turbo Regals/Grand Nationals used a single big turbo on their 3.8 V6.
Generally a single turbo is more efficient than twins for less than 1000hp.

well its a dual so im gonna have to go twins i guess cant go the blower route costs $$$$$$ that i dont really have the only thing im really concerned with about duals is space, its pretty tite in there and i dont think charge piping for 2 turbos is gonna fit on the other hand, neither is a custom crossover pipe so twins it is im thinking twin t25s for nice quick spooling
this things gonna be a beast:D

well thx alot turns out u guys really arnet just honda/acura pplz
