AH, D-Series Honda Pistons can hold 300+ hp. Just that like Viartas, they will only last for the one 300+ pull!

Rumor is the guys from PR are/have run 300 on these. I haven't heard of anyone in the states that has though.

They're stronger than stock so that it for what it's worth I guess.

There is/was a Swift GTi in PR running over 400 whp on Vitara pistons.
They were in some car magazines....the magazines were from PR though....
It was running lo 10's on the 1/4 mile like that with 24.5" slicks.
That was a few years ago.

For just over 100bucks... they are pretty good bang for the buck though. They lower the compression, have thicker ringlands and are of a harder AL casting process.

If you have the money... go forged of course .

im going push mine as far as i can go. my friend has pushed 475 dynoed on a ls/vtec stock bottom end big turbo and ran 11.01at the track.i saw this with my onw eyes and he dorve it almost every day.

been i the game for a long time im not a kid just talking. i saw the dyno sheet i know his team i donot make up sh..
i asked everybody how is he doing this on stock bottom big turbo lots of tuning and it worked.he has another built engine now. you know what he did it!i also got these pistons too im going over 3oohp too.

anyways 300hp on the stock bottom end has already been proven. in the dyno section on another sitea guy hit 302 with a thicker head gasket so he just lowered the compression thats the same thing your doing with the vitara piston. so its already proven on stock piston why cant it be done on better built piston.also im not here to fight or make up lies.internet tough guyz only place to feel big gota love them...... O0

no! i have a set of vitara piston for my z6. i was saying his ls stock bottom end held up to 475 so anything posable. the goal of 300hp on vitara piston can be reached if not more.

So, why are the Vitaras so much louder than other pistons with floating pins?

How much boost will it take to get to 300?

Didn't FTJ run like 23 psi on his and put down a little over 250 or something? He's non-VTEC SOHC though, so I guess the numbers would be higher with a better flowing head on there.

What turbo are you guys using to get to 300+?

there louder becouse of the piston-wall clearance. people usualy run them way out of spec.

IMO its worth it for budget build weekend warrior, IRL i dont go runnin around knockin' people running eagle rods because their made in china... i unno why its any diffrent.

few months after this was posted i checked up and it was still running, i think it even ran an 11 somthing in the 1/4... cant say what its status is right now for 2007.
