3 bar map sensor issues
OK here's the situation.
93 dx hatch. This particular model, for whatever reason, has MAP sensor wiring on the FIREWALL, vs on the normal engine harness. Here's the wire colors for 5v, Gnd, and Map signal according to hondata http://hondata.com/tech3barmap.html now, my wire colors are Pink w. White stripe, blue with green stripe, and Yellow with green stripe. According to the helm's it should be P/W = ground Gr/Blue = MAP signal Yel/Grn = 5v I'm using crome pro to tune. The car starts, idles fine for about 5 seconds, then shits the bed, according to my datalogging it idles in around the -8 to -4 in/hg range, then shoots up towards 28 psi and then the motor shuts off. Its not a vacuum leak because I had it running fine on a 2.5 bar map sensor, so its not like it all of a sudden sprung a vac leak when all I did was switch map sensors. So the hondata article mentioned that, using a multi-meter, you should see ~ 1.6v between Map sig and ground. You should see ~5v between gnd and 5v. So i measure. And what the F, its 1.9-2.0 volts on BOTH the supposed "map sig" and "5v" wires. Ground turns out to be the Green/Blue wire. I've tried switching back and forth from the other 2 mystery wires, but since they're both 2 volts the car always throws a MAP sensor code and shits the bed after about 5 seconds of being on. Anyone with a 93 hatch and 3 bar have these gay issues? Its really annoying the piss outta me. I'm wondering why 5v is only coming out at 2v...like wtf meng |
Re: 3 bar map sensor issues
odd colors for map wiring?
I have a 93 DX hatch running a 3bar with crome pro as well, wiring is as follows A - Green/White B - White C - Yellow/Red On the GM 3bar map there should be little letters a-b-c Now if you wanna go make me measure the voltages on these fuckers thats gonna cost ya ;) Good luck, Jeff |
