3/8 or 1/2 thick flange for turbo manny

for people who made turbo manny'z what did you use a 3/8 or 1/2 thick flange for turbo manny
has anyone heard or had bad experances with a 3/8 thick flanges.

This belongs in the fab section but none the less 3/8" will work but 1/2" is ideal.
