I get 21 at idle (750rpm). I think the more vac you have, the better your rings are (someone told me this), any truth to this?

Re:is 20 vac. normal?

21-22 at idle, 24 on decel...use to be 20 all the time till i broke a piston...then it started pulling more vaccum? even with new pistons....Autometer gauges are gay (but damn for the price a couple inchs/PSI +/- who cares?) ...

Re:is 20 vac. normal?

Really ?

Why do you think all the big cam V8 guys get electric vacuum pumps to run power brakes ?

Re:is 20 vac. normal?

i've got 14 on mine, maybe my valves need an adjustment ???

Re:is 20 vac. normal?

is it just me or it happend to all the autometer boost gauges.
in hot weather the needle always stays BELOW 0 with the engine off
in cold weather the needle always stays ABOVE 0, the colder it is the futher it gets, this few day it sits at like 2 to 3 psi with the engine off. so my idel reads like 17 inches. (but it is still 20 after u do the math :P)
