2 quick questions, please help!!!

1# I have a t25 with internal wg! well on the wg there is a tiny little brass connector! where do i connect it to? also have the same connector on the compressor housing which is on some sort of valve???

2# Same turbo is water and oil cooled i have been told that just cooling it with oil will be fine!

thanks in advance

1) I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you're talking about the nipples right? If so, you connect them together witha vacuum hose, and the boost built up in the compressor housing, will tell the wastegate when to open.

2) yea you'll be fine :)

just connect the wg to any vacuum (or boost in this case) source, the nipple on the compressor is probably the right one.

It's so easy to run water to it you might as well.

Yeah, running water to the turbo also will lower it's temperatures making it last longer. There was a reason they started using oil and water cooled ;)

probably because people who buy turbo cars dont know how to let them idle after driving....anyway, hook up the water lines if you have an extra few minutes and lines laying around

the oil is not a "coolant!" It lubricates the moving parts inside the turbo! This is a common misconception

Re:2 quick questions, please help!!!

i would think it does some small degree of cooling

The oil is too a coolant!
The reason you let the car idle is to keep the oil running through the turbo while the heat goes out of the exhaust housing and exhaust manifold. As soon as the oil flow stops the center cartridge gets soaked with heat so it's best to keep it minimal by letting the car idle.
The purpose of running engine coolant to the center cartridge is not for cooling while the engine is running, the oil does a pretty good job at that.
The engine coolant boils in the center cartridge after the engine shuts down and forms a natural recirculation. Thus keeping the heat from coking the oil and frying the seals.

Forgot to mention that the nipple on the compressor housing has some sort blow off valve mechanism under it! should i just do away with it! not sure of its purpose???

it sounds to me like you need to do some more research.

Re:2 quick questions, please help!!!

Tried adding a pic but i could'nt do it! it does'nt want to work might have to get into image station! when i took this turbo out of the car the 2 nipples were not connected like they normally are! one nipple is just your normal one for the wastegate! and the other one? its exactly the same as bov inside! is it possible that this is sort of recirculator??? think i might just take out the spring and the rubber gasket and connect em as normal.

Re:2 quick questions, please help!!!

that bov looking thing is probably an egr, there was one on my turbo and I got happy thinking it was a bov.

the last guy may not have helped you very much in the way of info, but it would definetely be wise for you to do more research and to calm down on the ! marks.

Just for the record i probably do ten times the amount of research that some people do on here i only ask when i cant find the answers i need and if im not mistaken that is the whole point of these forums! i dont mean to bitch but its not often i ask q's

Re:2 quick questions, please help!!!

Questions are cool. I ask em all the time. However, you need to SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER trying to install your own turbo before doing any research. Check the FAQ's, or the Tech section of HMT, (the page, not the forum), Honda-Tech, books (maximum boost by corky bell, etc), whatever. It seems like with the amount of knowledge that you have now, you will surely blow your ----. I don't mean to diss you or anything, or seem like an ass, but seriously do some reading of your own like you claim that you do, and if you are still confused, then ask.

(yeah i know i can't spell for ----, and my grammar is pathetic)

Re:2 quick questions, please help!!!

my setup is done! im not exactly new to turbo its just this certain turbo that im using! i know on most turbo's these 2 nipples connect but like i said before this turbo is different!I cant work out the purpose of this valve, so rather than blow my ---- im asking questions! surely everyone can appreciate that!
