rhb5 8psi intercooled on d16a6 with 2 inch charge pipes....is that a large enough charge pipe??

yeah.

I can honestly say that you should stay close to the size of the comp. outlet.

Isnt it good to increase diameter as you come to the intake manifold?

The most important thing is keeping those pipes smooth all the way to the TB.. I guess you could increase the size on the TB pipe, but no use for the others.

yeah.. why do people run 3" from there turbos when the outlet on the turbo is only 2"

its not gonna flow any more then 2" ::)

people go bigger as it gets close to the tb because cold air is denser and the air expands as it cools after the ic...at least thats my understanding of it...i have about 2" from the turbo and around 2.25" from the ic to the tb

umm, i like that answer ;) but i did it cuz 2.5 looked pretty nice and thats the same size the intercooler in and out are. oh and i could use the leftovers for downpipes on other projects...

well my car is now boosted and the 2 inchers work pretty damn good. thank guys

I would think volume in the intake would be important for lower rpm power as you are not in boost yet. The factory sure does have a larger pipe from the TB to the filter. Most boosted race cars run larger pipes. Although it will increase lag a little. Also note how the outlet of the turbo is actually "tapering" out from the turbo. Maybe the tapering effect means something. If that's true that your piping doesn't need to be any bigger than the outlet of the turbo, then you might as well put a smaller TB on too.

i run 2.5 all around... i used to run 2.25 from turbo to ic then 2.5 from ic to tb but i changed it up a little :)
