looks bad *** man. now get it installed and get some numbers on that thing. i would hope you make 200-350 horsepower to the crank. that would really make that neon scream. hope the tranny holds up to the beating.

Usually anything over about 220whp on the stock bottom end is pushing it. I'm hoping to get about 200-210 whp

So much time and effort has been put in to it, I don't think I'd ever sell it!
Good question, the answer depends on a few things. One is how well it actually performs. If it's fun and reliable I'll probably keep it for awhile. Two, if this car is relegated to racing duty only (i.e. not my daily) then I'm thinking of twin charging it, seems how it would be extremely simple.
On the other hand, my interests change quite quickly, and I'd really like to get back into a RWD vehicle, so who knows?

The trans shouldn't be a problem, I've got a limited slip diff in mine, with the diff saver tabs to keep the diff pin from exiting the bellhousing. Usually they are good up to around 350whp.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, the plan is still to get it all installed this coming weekend. Can't wait to get it going!
Starting Sat. I'm on paid vacation from work until Jan. 2nd, so that should be plenty of time to get this thing running at least halfway decent. unless I royally screwed up on some portion of the design. :P

Hm, I seem to remember seeing the same pictures over on GRM too. Small world.
I posted your work on my car club's forum since there are a couple guys that run neons for iceracing and mini-stock circle track but they didn't comment on your fab work Bunch of weiners I say. I have nothing more to add besides saying you've done some very nice fabrication and I hope to see some pictures and vid when you have the bugs worked out.

*Big thumbs up*

PS: it takes a big man to mod a neon, everyone knows they aren't real cars anyway. :P

Let's get this party started!

Just a couple of pictures showing what I'm starting with:

parts waiting to go on:

Didn't get a ton done tonight, mainly did some disassembly, and I had to re-fabricate the cold side piping to work with the new intake manifold.
Unfortunately I had to make some tight bends, but it should work well. Install continues tomorrow!

On a positive note, it seems as though I've finally figured out how to take a decent picture, so look forward to some clear ones from here on out.

Thanks everyone
Sky
