I found a 350Z 6 speed manual that supposedly had an adapter plate already to fit the VH, It's still available but I couldn't get any proof/evidence that it would really fit. I don't know if I'd say "easy" swap. lol. I'm sure the drive shaft would need to be replaced, have to mount/fabricate a clutch system, and there would be some computer issues to sort out as well. That would be awesome tho. Someday...
Damn that would be nice. Are the 370cc side fred? If not you could always put in 8 dsm 450

Yes, unfortunately they are side fed. I can get an adapter kit to convert but that along with a set of 8 injectors is $$$. Will have to wait. I'm going to play with my tune and try some tricks to get more from this setup first. I need to check my fuel pressure, I can probably bump it up some and get more from these injectors. I should be able to go a little leaner now that I'm getting the timing sorted out which should help as well. My AFR's are in the low 11's but I'm still running w/o an intercooler at the moment so it needs to be a little on the rich side especially going into summer here in Phoenix, it's 100*F+ all the time, sometimes even at night in the summer.

Here's one of my wideband graphs. Mostly mid-low 11's except where I hit the rev limiter (spike) :P

I'm pretty sure the 350z box = the rb25det box = the gtr box (minus transfer and forged shot peened stuff). IE, it should be good for the power/torque.

good to see you tuning the stock ECU, your running 18dbtdc at WOT > 4500 and 15dbtdc at WOT and <4500 (with knock monitoring on)... i know with the KA's they pretty much dont use the knock monitoring for WOT stuff, im GUESSING the knock sensor is the same (or similar) with the Q45, but either way i'm REALLY glad to see this update, obviously alot of progress has been made, looks like it hauls some serious ***.

I still have a lot to learn about tuning but I think I'm making good progress. Since the log above I've retarded timing quite a bit above ~4K. I've been fighting some detonation between 4-5K. I've just about gotten rid of it I believe. I made some more changes and have a new chip in the car now but still need to check it. I decided to experiment with the variable cam timing. The stock setting turns it off at 4600+ rpm. I've been wondering if that needed to be changed now that it's boosted but haven't been able to find any documentation on the subject yet. I found some dyno testing results that showed no noticeable gains in changing it but those tests were all done NA. I dropped the setting to 3900 so I'll see if it seems to make any difference.

I'd like to learn a bit more on what the numbers mean on the maps. I know the high numbers on the timing map mean it's monitoring knock and to subtract 128 from the number to get the actual timing. The low rpm and load areas of the fuel maps have a value of 5.88 in all of them. What does this number indicate? I can effectively eliminate knock detection from some other values I can modify as well. I can set the min TP and RPM for knock detection as well. I could just turn them up to where they would never be an issue. All I've done currently to eliminate the effects of knock detection is make the no knock and knock maps the same.

This weekend I also tossed the bleed style boost controller I have been using for a regulator feeding the WG top port. The other one was working ok but I like this method better and I will only have one **** to adjust. I haven't had a chance to try it and dial in my desired boost yet so hopefully it will work as planned. I also mounted a red LED next to the boost gauge that comes on when the methanol kicks in so I know when it's on. I wasn't sure if I had the pressure switch set where I wanted it so now I can see exactly when it comes on.

having the high/low ign/fuel maps isnt for knock response is it? I personally go with the KISS method also and keep em the same i THOUGHT the only means of turning off the knock responce and auto fuel trim on/off was to add 128 to it... obviously i need to get out and do a bit of tuning myself... didnt realize the VH45DE's had variable cam timing! wouldnt that make it a "VH45VE"? (i just wiki'd it, guess they dropped VTC in 96)... anywho not TOO many people have boosted VH's, but i guess the stock internals are pretty decent, so 400whp on pump gas is probably VERY doable (if not more)

I got tired of guessing which map it was referencing. I've been fighting a little detonation and eventually (I'm a little slow I guess) realized I wasn't doing anything with the knock maps. At this point my primary maps were much richer and less timing than the knock maps so when it detected a little knock and switched to the knock maps it got worse. Anyway, then I just made them all the same so it doesn't really matter which one it's on.

I have a list on my laptop at home of all the addresses I have details for on my ECU. You can check them out but there are several knock settings and the minimum TP and RPM for knock detection. I'll post it up tonight. Some of the values may be the same for other Nissan ECU's or at least they are available if you can locate the address.

yeah, saw you going back and forth trying to figure out a TP tracing/logging solution for your ECU with DeviousKA... it would be cool if you posted up your .bin for reference, you still running stock 370's, if so time to upgrade to 550's

explain to me how the oil return works. is there a pump to pump it all back? that oil return scares me.
