Default 14B vs. T25: lag

I have my turbo selection narrowed down to these two. I know a T25 will spool extremely fast but might drop out in efficiency fairly early, and the 14B should spool later, but remain at fairly high efficiencies higher up in the rpm range. My question is: With a FMIC, would the lag from a 14B be too much for my 2.0L engine?

Don't even worry about it dude, the lag on both of those turbos on a 1.6 sohc motor wouldn't be ----, so on a 2.0 motor I woudl say both of them are going to be way too small. I have a turbo bigger than both of them (t3 60 trim .60/.4 on my D16z6 and I wouldn't want anything smaller.

I'm not looking for big gains yet. I just want to be boosted by the end of the summer. Granted, I'm not going to be happy with anything less than a gain of 50whp, but still, I'm not looking to make a monster.

My point is that turbo will be way too small for your motor. It will spool too fast and die out on the top end. Even if your not going for a lot of power your going to want a bigger turbo that fits your motors powerband better.

BBKA speaks the truth. 14b on a D16 has nearly instant spool.

Im planning on putting a T25 or 14b on a 2.0L but it'll be for low-end tq purposes ONLY. If I were aiming to actually make a fast car (or in my case SUV) with boost, I wouldnt even consider such a small turbo.

Well honestly, I don't want to spend the extra $180 or so on a 16G if I can get a 14B for ~$120 and have it still work. I rarely rev past 5k rpms, so I'm not too concerned about it dieing out.

If you want good low end power then use the 14b turbo on your setup. I can support that by saying I use a 13g (td04) turbo on my sohc 2.2 f22a1. I like the power band even though it does top out around 5 grand

Why are you even going to turbo your car if you don't want a lot of power and you don't rev past 5k rpms? Seems pretty pointless to do anything to your car if your going to drive like a -----. I'd rather spend my money on better things, but what man it's your car lol.
