14b turbo on b18c1 ?
I am piecing together a turbo kit for my 95 integra with a b18c1 engine in it and i have the opportunity to get a free 14b turbo off a first generation eclipes in mint condition and i was wondering if that turbo would be able to hold 5-8 psi till readline, i know that the t25 wont hold it but since the 14b is a little bigger i thought it might hold boost till redline

This should answer your question.
http://www.stealth316.com/images/td05h-14b-cfm.gif _________________________________________________ How to read it First you need to do a couple calculations. To get the Pressure Ratio, you use this formula: PR = (14.7 + pounds of boost) / 14.7 so, you want 5 for min and 8 for max ( 14.7 + 5 ) / 14.7 = 1.34 ( 14.7 + 8 ) / 14.7 = 1.54 Now you calculate your NA airflow rate using: AFR = (engine size in cc * .061) * RPM * .5 * Vol Eff / 1728 so plug your numbers in and get.. (1800 * .061) * 5000 * .5 * .80 / 1728 = 127.8 CFM NA *Volumetric Efficiency changes depending on a few factors. 80% is just an average. You could take that to 85-88% with a GOOD intercooler. Now, multiply the NA ratio * your PR to get the AFR under boost 127.8 * 1.54 = 195.71 so, look at the compressor map and see that PR 1.54 intersects 200 cfm in the highest efficiency area. This is good. So to answer your question, a 14b at 8 psi will be extremely well balanced for your engine. Then it's just a matter of plugging in numbers and seeing where they end up on the map. |

Re:14b turbo on b18c1 ?
you put the RPM at 5000...???????
A B18C1 goes up to 8000+ ::) |
