14b or t3 turbo???

okay here is the deal, i have a y7 motor with z6 head and want to boost it just for the hell of it since it seems liek i haven't had a boosted car in forever. at teh moment i have a T3 log manifold and just picked up a 48/52 IHI. i am getting a 14b in a trade this weekend and was thinking i can just weld that bitch to the stock y7 exhaust manifold and sell the ihi and log. what turbo should i use? what turbo should make more power at around 10psi? sorry for the noob question but i have never used a 14b before.

Any decent sized T3 will always outflow a 14b ;)

Also, don't base your decisions off of what one person says on the internet, I could just be out to sabotage you.

i had pretty much already decided to sell the 14b but just wanted to see what people thought on the sizes since i couldn't find any numbers on the 14b to be able to compare it to the other.

Re: 14b or t3 turbo???

A 14b can flow ~430 CFM @ 15 psi. A 60 trim T3 flows about 490 CFM at the same pressure.

You couldn't find any numbers on the 14b because you didn't try.

I would go minimum 42/48 T3. Is that ihi one of those puny fuckers? If so, I'd say ditch both of them and get yourself a real heater.

yeah it does look pretty small but woudln't it flow more then the 42/48 since it is a 48/52 ???
