14b Questions: Search is odd.

Sorry, I never have luck with the search options on this forum. So if anyone is annoyed that i'm asking, my bad in advanced.

1)That weird black pipe thingy: Looks like a bendy straw ( asked this before ). What is it for? What do I do with it? Didnt see this in any 14b setups on the projects section.

2) Piping: 2.5 is what i'm going with just because it seems a bit more snug. But the DSM Intercooler has like 1.5 welded pipes. A reducer i'm guessing, but what about air flow? How much is that going to hurt?

3) 14b Turbo Outlet: That flange thing. First off the turbo outlet is small anyway, so i'm guessing I need to get a flange to bolt up to it so I can run pipe down? I have a stock DSM charge pipe, think it has a matching flange and an itty bitty ass pipe running from it. Im just worried about air flow issues.

4) Which is Which: Which is the oil fitting and which is the water coolant fitting? Anyone have a diagram to run both and to where? I want to use water to keep the turbo life since it's in pretty good condition already.

5) Piping 2: Does this sound weird? I finally got outside and took off my bumper and intake. It seems I'll only need to run TWO intercooler pipes, the one from the throttle body to the Intercooler, and the one from the intercooler to the turbo. Very short, both are like a max of 3-4 feet long. Did I forget to run something somewhere? Downpipe is on it's way.

6) Piping 3: Is it bad to run just 2 inch piping? Going on this air flow thing.. 1.5 Intercooler and Turbo outlets going into 2.5 inch piping sounds weird for air flow.

7)Breather: Can I use one of the pipes as a breather for the other side of the turbo? Im not sure what size opening that is. Doesn't seem like there's anything there to support a breather. Not sure if anyone puts a breather on a 14b or not.

I think that's it. Hopefully i'll get answers and not flamed. New to this so. Thanks in advance.

Re:14b Questions: Search is odd.

1- do you mean the oil return?
2- 2.5 is on the big side
3- use the flange and weld bigger piping to it if you care, then you can port the housing if you care...but that size works decent on dsm's...
4- the oil ones will have a flange on one side of the turbo for the return, the inlet is opposite that
5- yea you got it
6- id run 2 inch to the intercooler, and 2.25 to the throttle body
7- wtf are you talking about

The breather thing: I mean that pipe that connects to the side of the turbo with a filter on the end. I might have something VERY screwed up about this so, my bad. But that's what i'm talking about.

The bendy straw thing: Is that the oil return? So I need a flange to bolt up to that do put my oil line on? It looks really weird, it's got a flange on the end, it's black.. uhhh ??? Yeah. Just didnt know what it was because all the oil feed and oil return kits dont come with flanges.
