14b downpipe?

I was just wondering how much power i would be losing if i didn't have a downpipe. I have the stock dsm downpipe, with the O2 sensor on it, but nothing after that. Would i be losing power or gaining power? If i'm losing power , then what size downpipe and exhaust should i get? Please help me out. THanks.

u will gain spool time, the best exhaust for a turbo is no exhaust.

itl be loud as hell W/O a donpipe. I would also worry about getting cold air sucking up into the turbo from the exaust side an cracking stuff.

belive it or not if you take your headeroff yor car you have a chance of sucking cold air into one of the exaust ports and bending valves. its happened before and i could se the waistgate opening and sucking some cold air into the fins and doing nasty stuff, just a thought. or even if you stop the car and then you have cold air espically in the winter go up hte exasut port and it could serriously ---- the turbo.

Sorry Onyx But I'm calling BS on that one.... in your exhaust manifold you have hot expanding gasses at 20+ psi trying to get out of the engine and into the atmosphere. What you said about air being sucked in on a NA car is probably true but on a FI setup it's a totally different world. Think of the turbo as a pump (which it is) how much would it take for the cold air to sneak past something spinning at 100,000 RPM in the opposite direction? Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I have heard of it happening, but I think something has to go seriously wrong for that to happen(huge backfire, broken timing belt,...).
