Re:14b compared to t3

The 14b is bigger then the commonly known as t25. The 14b will pull your car alot harder under 12psi then the 14b will.
Depending on engine size and amount of boost you want to run. depends on the better turbo for the car. You can get a t25 to spool and hit full boost at about 2200-3000 rpms on most honda engines. which is great no lag but also ---- for your clutch and trans.
The 14b you will get to spool full boost probably around 3500 if not before. better on your clutch and will pull harder then the t25 under full boost.
To each his own correct me if im wrong.

Re:14b compared to t3

well the 14b is a decent sized turbo and so is the t3. i would think the t3 would be slightly bigger but i could be wrong. t3's come in all different shapes, sizes, and wheel trims which i think defeats the 14b right there. all t3's dont have the exact same wheel trim and i think thats what makes a difference in spool time also. i have a t3 on my d-series motor but i bought it remanufactured and i'm pretty sure it has a bigger wheel trim than most saab/volvo t3 turbos. i can hit full boost between 3500-4000 which is perfect for me cuz i dont care about lag too much.....when boost hits....it ------- hits!!! ;D

Re:14b compared to t3

i like garrett/airesearch turbos cuz they are all sizes and most can be interchange with each other. i personally would stick with a t3 being it just easier to find little fittings/flanges for. plus cuz my t3 ------- pulls so good i dont think i'd ever get anything other than a garret t-series turbo :)

Re:14b compared to t3

yeah i had a 60 trim on my d16z6 for a bit and it pulled great...i guess i'll stick with the .42/.48 turbo for my b18b since the manifold will be easier to come by and i can upgrade to a 60 trim in the future...

I think the 14b will pull better for you than the t3 with .42 .48. The 14b has a bigger exhaust wheel.
