02 sensor location - STD manifold

Hello, I'm getting my DP and intercooler piping welded next week and am wondering if I should make a bung for my o2 sensor in my DP or use the stock location in the STD manifold

I figured the high EGT will fry the sensor in the stock location and I'm better to just weld it shut and make a new hole in the DP.

Any ideas?

I would recommend the o2 sensor being after the turbo, either in the downpipe or a housing immediately after the turbo (like how dsms have an O2 sensor housing that connects from turbo to dp).

Some people will argue me on this, but you can do what you want.

instead of welding the hole shut I've seen guys weld in a probe for an egt gauge

Yeah, that would be senseless to weld that hole shut. Just get something to fill the hole.. if it's standard o2 sesnor size then it's 18mmx1.5

Just stick a plug in there or something classy like a spark plug. You could always use it for an EGT probe at a later point in time, it's the ideal location.

thats a good idea on the spark plug put a plug wire on it too running to a secret hidden place and say its ur after burner....lol

sparkplug, bolt.. whatever works - as long as it's 18mmx1.5

i was being serious you wouldnt think to just shove a sparkplug in there maybe a old o2

02 sensors have to be after the turbo. idealy 5-8 inchesz after the turbine wheel. to close and itll behave like an EGT.

I thought I saw this topic before and the general consesus was to keep the O2 right smack dab in the center of the manifold... before the turbo ???

I have mine in it's original location and it seems to work fine... I do have an O2 bung on the downpipe as well for a wideband, but it's plugged otherwise.

WTF?
