Hi,

Just fitted a Drag Gen 3 kit onto my B16a2 Civic, I couldnt get the Hondata to work so im running stock ecu and one way valve for MAP sensor and FMU for now.

Just went for a test run, got no engine check lights but I got a fair bit of blue smoke, no exhaust yet so its loud with just dp. the idle is pretty rough too.

I'm getting a kinda whining sound, from the turbo? Is this normal?
Should I be getting blue smoke? whats wrong?

I read this thread and asked him to send me a pic of the oil drain because i thought the drain was the problem :-X, he did and this is the pic,

yea brand new.

Its ok, i just checked again and the smoke is black, just gotta sort the fueling!

What sort of Hdata problems. Describe in detail?
Are you 2b,4b or s200?

Your engine is broken...just rip it out and send it to me....I live next to you ;D I'm your Dutch neigbour.
black smoke is not to bad....are you running the FMU with bigger injectors??? cause with the Hondata you would have to.

he was using stock injectors, FMU AND check valves AND HONDATA! :-X :-X

He rang me and i sorted it for him :D Well hes runnin it on the FMU until he sorts something with the hondata.

Also i dont think the Hondata will work because he has a EDM P30! The USDM ecu has a lot more things in it like PA Sensor, Injector Test Circuit, which the EDM ecu does not. The same problem i had with uberdata, until , Blake,Bigwig and the other uberdata dudes sorted some ---- out :D. All works mint now,

black is good your just running real fat thats all. get that hondata worked out and you'll be okay. or just find a usdm ecu??wouldnt that work???you can slang that p30 for a buttload and use the money to buy a p28 or something

The Hondata is S200b, the red LED was flashing slowly and the car was in limp home mode. Gonna get Hondata UK to re-map my ROM with a basemap so I can drive it to them and let them tune it.

Why is that intercooler mounted upside down? ???

someone else said that too. UK cars dont have the metal across the front like US cars and thats the only way we could get it to fit, will it effect it at all?

The PA is no biggie, Hdata lets you disable it.
Injector test circuit will deff. slow your roll though. Uberdata can disable, but I'm pretty sure Hdata cannot. (Im not %100 on that, but pretty sure).
If your heart is set on Hdata, and you cannot disable the injector test circuit, Id try to source a USDM ecu.

Ive never had the chance to run into a inject test circuit problem with mine, but a flashing led on the blue box can indicate: ECU to Bluebox connection error. Loose socket. Wrong .bin loaded for the ECU in question.
I have however loaded up Uberdata on a JDM ECU, and until I disabled the injector test, I got key-on solid cell.

So at one point you were able to drive it on the Hdata w/no blinking light on the blue-box? If so, Id take your eeprom out and ever so lightly bend the legs apart, so that when you put it back in, there is pressure being applied to socket. Is this a wipe socket or a machine socket? Dual wipes blow.

I know I'm jacking this thread but, how is the edm p28 diffrent from the usdm p28. my buddy and i tried to swp ecu's mine being the european on and the chip in it wouldnt work in hie car usdm. help me out thanks

HELP! Its running so rich the plugs went black and it wouldnt start at all. We took the FMU out all together and cleaned the plugs and its still running really rich. I can't even drive it to get the exhaust fitted. What can I do? Or will I have to wait until i get a new basemap for the Hondata?

plz someone help me!

Hmmm, stock injectors right? You could just plug in your stock ECU. (cut J1 jumper to return the ecu to stock if needed). Your car 'should' run if your on the stock injectors/ecu/regulator. Just no boost for you... :P

Do you have access to a chip burner?

Other than looking goofy with the bumper off, its just fine.

ouch...that sucks. I guess he could sell that hondata on honda tech, and use that cash to get a usdm ecu and a rebuild :-\
