where should i route my dumptube?

should i run it straight into the dp as shown if pic #1 (easier to fab) OR
should i run it down stream a bit with a pipe bending downward off the wg and joining back into the dp just before the oil pan as shown in pic #2 (more work better flow?)
i need to figure this out real soon as i plan on welding up the dp this weekend.

more pics once everything is done.

Re: where should i route my dumptube?

i was told that running it down a ways, and then into the exhaust is better for the system. :y

Run it back in at as shallow an angle of entry as you can 18-48" after turbine exit.

Also do this with your PCV system, don't even bother messing around with silly catchcans. Nice shallow slashcut in the downpipe, and under boost the exhaust flow past the slash cut will actually create a vacuum, assisting in crank case ventilation.

thanks for the input jd. i will definitely go with option #2. can you explain further the details on the positive effect it will have on assisting ccv? i don't know much about that at all. :1

edit: i know what you mean now, do the same thing with the ccv. :1 :1 :1

Yup yup. Ever seen one of the vacuum bleeders that uses compressed air to generate suction? Same difference. :6

As stated I would cetainly run the wg dump a ways downstream and "Y" it in to the exhaust at a shallow angle. You want a smooth merger of the two streams. Just think about two merging pipes flowing water. The turbulence created at a 90 degree union would be much more than say a 30 degree. It's usually easier for me to visualize the path of a liquid rather than air.

Not significantly, at least when compared to a shallower angle of entry than 30 deg. Convergent collectors are finicky.

Make it as shallow as you have time, materials, patience for.

Man weiR, for all the headackes you haveing with a top mount, and my wastegate being bigger, I definitely cross a Top Mount off my manifold design list!!!
