What do you pay for a size 160 tank of argon?
 

I feel like I'm taking it in the ass when I exchange my tank ( I own it) so I'm curious what the rest of you guys are paying. After a couple of replies I'll let you know what it cost me today. :-\

i believe here in Madison it is like $53 to have it filled with strait argon

i paid $38 to fill my 80, and last month when i filled my 150 it was $44

That's about what I pay! Seems like a raping but hey what do I know.
My fill broke down as follows:
Argon size 160 $71.99
Cylinder maintenance $1.00
Hazardous materials charge $4.02 <--Is this a cleaning/chemical thing or what? Argon as we all know is inert and hardly hazardous unless they consider it so because it's pressurized.
Tax $5.20
Total = $82.21
I purchased a full tank from them originally and iirc it was somewhere between $255 and $280. Of course I own the tank and just swap out for a "new" full tank when needed for the $82.21 listed above.

i pay about $45 for a 120 size bottle, and $75 for a 330 ish size bottle

do you have a "tractor supply" there? i dont know the size of my bottle but it only costs me $17 to fill. it is the smallest bottle i have seen though

yea, its pretty small. one problem i have had though is sometimes i get 1500psi and other times i get 2500psi when i exchange for a new bottle. anyone else get that?

$24 for 250 cu ft pure argon. We have 15 tanks tho.

You just need to find a supplier that pumps their own argon. We have another welding supplier, that even with the volume of business we do with them, can't even come close to what the one can. It's amazing how it varies.

I just traded my 80 for another 150 for $65. Niiiiiice :D So i gotta pair of 150's now. Now I just gotta find a 320 laying around that's still good on insection and looks ok!

LMAO i went to get a pair of cutting glasses from the super local place i never go too (lost mine grrr ) and bought a 120-125 tank off a guy for $30, then had it filled for $22.50. ---- airgas lmao

i dont believe ive ever paid for a bottle of gas....hahahaha of course i do service the trucks at machine and welding supply co. somehow while im in the pit droping the oil and changing the filter the tank on my welder magicly fills its self up! i love knowing people...hahaha
