Welding Shop @ School
14 Attachment(s)
Snapped some quick cellphone pics. Quality sucks, so deal with it. LMAO! I'm missing some machines. Especially the non welding ones. We have several press brakes, benders, acouple of mills, a lathe, two large vertical bandsaws. Lotta stuff in the CNC shop too.
Just finished getting approval for another 5-7 350MP's, 15 laptops, and a $178,000+ water jet cutter + the software & computers to run it. Re: Welding Shop @ School
Here's the plan. You drive your truck down here at like 2am. I'll put my generator & plasma cutter in the back. We go behind the shop & ---- the door & alarm. We'll just cut out our own door. btw. Diesel mechanics is the other half of the building. So we'll be grabbing some gigantic as turbo's & superchargers on the way out too LMAO!

Re: Welding Shop @ School
Yeah. I'm sure there are better, but this seems to be nice enough for me. We have some old crap & alot of newer stuff so... Get to experience both ends I guess. I think the coolest thing we have is a huge diesel stick welder that Chevron donated to us. It's like 12-15' long & 4' high. The thing is massive.
I may stay an extra semister to take in some of the elective CNC fab classes in the CNC fab shop & do some of the CNC welding we have in the shop. Looks like something that would be interesting to know how to do. I've been wanting to make a CNC router table for afew years now neways & haven't had the couple of grand laying around to put one together. Don't worry. No matter how much schooling I have, (And I am ---- retentive on being a stickler for details... Check Toyota forums LoL!). I will always support using birdshit flux core welds on galvanized pipe cut out in whitey bends & using miscalculation ferrite items as filler for the big gaps from poor fitment! :y Just do it outside & brush the coating off so you don't kill yourself LoL! ;D |
Re: Welding Shop @ School
Our local CC also has a huge welding department. I took oxy/fuel there over the summer, and am continuing on this summer (free classes cause my mom works there :6)
They just bought a huge ass warehouse right outside of town that they are making their welding and machining facility. It is going to be so pimp. They rock mostly Miller machines. I'll get some pics when I go home over the summer :> |
Re: Welding Shop @ School
Nice:)
I really like like our millers. I love messing around on aluminum scrap with the Dynasty 300's we have. We are pretty much moving towards the 350MP's instead of the Invision 354MP's & the few XMT's we have. I've played alittlebit on one of the XMT 350's we have. Not sure if I like the 350MP or the XMT350 best yet tho. Haven't played with the XMT's enough. I like the lift-arc feature Miller's doing, but hell. Coming from harbor freight. Just having HF makes you happy as a mofo! |
