Re: Welding pwns me......JB Weld to the rescue
Based on my experience with JB weld, it will slowly burn away when used on exhaust stuff.
Next time, drink less beer and spend the money on a hood that you don't have to hold with one hand. |

Re: Welding pwns me......JB Weld to the rescue
Go buy some new wire at home depot or somewhere. If you are still using the wire that came with the welder I guarantee just buying new wire will help.

I would bet that ---- would look really good after you paint it.

Re: Welding pwns me......JB Weld to the rescue
umm.. what kind of jb weld is that..did you even mix it right. When i mix my JB it turns out to be a grey to darker grey not brown.?

Re: Welding pwns me......JB Weld to the rescue
its grey......i think the brown is just from my low wattage light fixture
so the wire that came with the welder sucks? good advice! i'll def. go buy new wire for next time |

Re: Welding pwns me......JB Weld to the rescue
Its charge pipe, why in the hell would it break on there? There isnt a large amout of heat.
Turn the wirespeed down and leave the heat kinda hot, that will let you figure out what you need. I run stuff hot and always start and stop with any welding i do. Always work from the thickest piece of material. Do a small weave pattern but stay on the flange longer than the pipe. If it gets red and stuff starts to swirl around its about to blow a hole in the pipe. You can stop and restart like i do or you can do a little whip action and move forward real fast giving the material a second to cool then get back into it. I do that with stick welding but it still applies Watch the glowing puddle behind your wire, thats the weld. Keep the puddle as uniform as possible, when you go fast its long and skinny when you go slow its short and fat. It is the size of your weld. When you restart go a little farther back than the point of where the glowing puddle was last, make a small circle then go forward. You will figure it out with some experience. Fluxcore wire welding isnt fun at all. |
