Welder
Hi folks! My father have 2 or 3 welders. One is a MIG welder that weld like ---- (dunno why) and the other is a big fatty (like 100lbs, 240V) rod welder.
Can I do some custum stuff with these or I need to buy a tig welder? Is it enough strong to make a manifold? Downpipe? I did some catback pipe welding, but it takes less heat than a mani or downpipe... TIG welder would be nice, but $$$ :( I'll check for used on local sell. I go to my parents house this evening will take pics of the welder to figure it out. Ciao ma gang de vous-autres! |
Re: Welder
a mig can do anything you want it to do.

Re: Welder
I forgot to mention that the mig welder have no gas input. Good anyway?
|
Re: Welder
are you sure its not a mig flux welder?
|
Re: Welder
Probably a flux mig welder yeah. Maybe the rod is not the good one :o

Re: Welder
Flux nig nig

Re: Welder
if you have a flux-core welder you need to try to find a wire feeder that has a gas hook up b/c flux-core sucks on exhaust pipe and welding on headers

Re: Welder
pics of wire feed machine.

Re: Welder
get a tig torch and reverse the polarity and add some argon, now you got a tig.

Re: Welder
Mig is the way to go! A good mig(no fluxcore) can do stainless real nice also.
