welded combustion chambers for a sohc head

Its kinda of a wtb but I figured this would be the best spot. Lookin for someone to do this for a d16a6 head. Pm me if you can. Oh and I would try myself but all I have is my mig and flux madness machines.

more compression. easy fix for those who are cheap who dont want to build a block to up compression. All Motor junk

cheaper would be to mill the head

Been there done that. Cant get the compression raise that you can with welded chambers.

milling will only get you so far and it messes with your timing. welding allows you to not only raise compression but also re-shape the head to your liking.

Most of the guys on here with the lower end Millers won't be able to handle a head.

Why don't you try pestering Weir? He seems like a nice enough guy.

so do you just weld small metal inserts in certain spots or what?

chris, i'll do it for $70, but you'll have to pay shipping back and forth. you will also need to resurface the head just to clean it up and probably do some hand work in the cc's to make them pretty- i'll make sure there is lots of meat to play with.

oh yeah, jd, that head i did for the bmw was with my miller 180sd. i thought that was a low end tig... ;)

thanks for the support guys. ;D

Heh.

I watched a buddy get a lecture/reaming about using his 180SD to weld up the 89-90 Volvo GXE head for his Ford 2.3 DOHC conversion. There was a little bit more going on than with that BMW head, there's a pretty massive block on the back of it that needed going over a couple of times to get right.
