Trying to figure out if a Turbonetics T3 Super 60 .48AR will bolt to a T3 .42/.48 kit

Long story short. I have found someone who makes a bolt-in turbo kit for my 1991 BMW 318is, including injectors and tune, however the turbo that comes with the kit is an imported .42/.48 T3. After some research and reflection on my reliability/power goals, I've come to the conclusion that the Turbonetics T3 Super 60 .48AR is the best turbo to meet those goals.

I've spoken with the gentleman who fabricated the kit and he is willing to do the tune necessary for the Super 60, but he wouldn't be too stoked if a ton of custom fabrication is needed to fit the turbo in the kit.

Does anyone know whether it would fit without additional fabrication? Or, can anyone provide guidance on how I can figure that out?

Thanks in advance!

If it has a standard T3 flange, it should work - some Super 60s used a K-car flange that won't fit.

You will, however, want to be sure your kit is set up for an external wastegate. I don't think the Turbonetics Super 60 has an internally gated version.

Thanks for the reply! So, it looks like both turbos have the same T3 standard flange. And it looks like Turbonetics does have an internally gated Super 60. So the only question now, is will the downpipe/exhuast port on the turbine match up?

Answering my own question. I found out that the imported T3 uses a V-Band exhaust port and Turbonetics offers the Super 60 with a V-Band! So, I think this may work.
