The Smiley Tools TIG will more than be adequate.

Buy a mig with gas. Or send me the log manifold. I'll weld it up for you. Just pay shipping.

Actually Mike welds his own manifolds now with a Miller. Thanks for the after thought though Steve. :P

Although he has the miller, he hasn't used it yet, so I doubt he's welding up his manifolds already. He'll get there, but as of last week when I was there, he hasn't touched it. >:D

Re: tips on a welder.

how much will it cost for you to weld up the manifold for me? i dont have enough money for one of those welders with the tank on it. so which would be better a wire fed or stick?

Re: tips on a welder.

Wire feed would be better.

I'm not gonna charge you to weld it, I just don't have any little welding projects to tie me over.

i would take you up on this deal because your welder and your skills are probably 50 times better then mine. but i need a welder anyways to do charge piping and exhaust. i dont really know you either so you could jack me and i couldnt do anything about it except cry and bitch. thanks for the offer though. if you make me a a/c mani that fits a t3 i will pay you $150 pay pal in january cuz i have no money right now.

Ill vouch for him, only because i know where his mom lives ;)
Honestly man, for the amount your going to spend for the DIY kit and $150 to weld, you can buy a manifold from dave (CSAddict) or us fully tig welded in stainless. I think a guy named hotrex makes manifolds 2 ::)

Oh wahhhhh, this guy stepped on everyone in the fab forum, but I'm gonna make fun of people mig welding mild manifolds, even though my first manifolds were mild mig'd, and they do the same exact thing as the bullshit I make now. I actually still use mild flanges, cause I'm cheap.

Re: tips on a welder.

would you make me one with your diy kit for a t3 and a 35 or 38mm wastegate flange,a/c would be preffered but i dont really mind to much. if so how much would it cost with shipping to 85233. if you dont want to do that how much are your kits and do you have a website.

My website is ---------------------------

I don't make custom manifolds, I just offered to weld one up for an HMT member in need. That's the extent of it.

Hes been around a long ass time. Thats one of the things to consider when youre thinking of trusting someone. I would trust Stealthmode without a doubt. Damn, if I had the parts for him to weld me a manifold id send them next week. lol

Anyways to piggyback on this thread. Ive got a Craftsman wirefeed Mig welder than I havent started playing with yet. I want to get a gas tank. Only planning on doing small stuff, ie charge piping, exhaust etc. Is a 10Cu Ft cylinder enough?

Re: tips on a welder.

no way, smallest id go is a 65 cube bottle.

i have a 92 on my tig

Yea thats definately to small, i suggest practicing with flux core before you waste money on the gas. Go with a 65 cu on the bottle. I have that welder to, its ok, just make sure you read the settings, youll probably always have it on "5" and "B" for most charge pipes and exhaust stuff.

Re: tips on a welder.

I think I will get some Flux Core to start learning how to use the Mig. What thickness flux core should I go with?
