CS welding between the runners, and welding a slip-on collector can be done. Unfortunately you can not weld every inside seam of a slip on collector - leaving you with big leaks.
sten most newbies are going to waste during the process??? Afew inches of staight pipe and at most one $5 bend. The point you're making about 3D modeling IS valid, yet NOT when it comes to doing anything on this type of scale. |
Re: some more solidedge performance fun.
you guys are ------- hilarious, im just ------- around with solidedge, i know that i personally couldnt fab that manifold i was ust having fun and trying out new ----.
but if i were to make a ramhorn i could acuratly tell you exactly how much straight tubing you would need and bends and any od type bends that would needed to be cut. if i honestly wanted to build that manifold, each runner would be welded then i would use a burns stainless slip on collector. or a home made collector would have a angle on each runner which would allow you to weld on the inside. solidegde is just a tool that help you visualize and create new sytles of parts, in the end its how much a person knows about welding and fabrication to make one. i rather spend a few hours in a nice cool clean envirment with my feet up, then sitting infront of a chop saw all day trying to figure the perfect length of straight that i need. |
Re: some more solidedge performance fun.
sw ftw... move to the birmingham area right now and i'll get you a job building patio chairs, haha. catia is the one program i wish i would have learned but that whole fall of US auto companys kinda ruins it. i run on solidworks all day. i was thinking about making a mani, can someone get me specs on the flange?
