smoothing manifold internals
I've finally got my manifold finished. TIG welded, all 304 stainless. There are big steps between the joins and they oppose gas flow so I want to smooth them out. What tools can I use to get around the tight corners to file/grind them down?

You need a new camera and a die grinder. There is a million different attachments that you can use to get into tight spots. The same type of cutting tools a hand porter would use. I buy all my stuff from Goodson because they are pretty close to me, but not the cheapest stuff out there. I can't spell today at all.

hand files will help you get the surface flakes, but you really want some kind of a power grinder to take out any kind of solid metal. Just get the longer attachments and they also offer attachments that hold the cutters at angles.

ive never tried it but ive heard that a sand blaster will take a lot of it off if you can find a piece of flex to attach to the end of it. youd have to use a real coarse bead though. there is some company that forces an abrasive gel through whatever you want ported or cleaned up and its supposed to work awesome if you could figure that out?

The company's name is Extrune Hone. It is like a thick paste with sand in it. It removes material where you don't need it to. Clean up what you have (like we already told you), put on a turbo, and make power.

Pencil Grinder!
Not sure how much they are.. probaby not cheap. you can get a similar attachment for a dremel as seen below.. the flexable line (like a speedo cable) attaches to the end of the dremel.
