Smiley Tools Welder.............What Amperage/Model Do You Own??

I'm looking into picking up a Smiley Tools TIG/Plasma Machine next week. I'm wanting to know waht model you all have ???
I'm trying to decide if it's worth the few extra bucks to buy the 40 amp unit versus the 30 amp one? He doesn't have any auctions going for the 40 amps right now (sure I could just call and order one though) so I can't look over the specs. I see so many post from people using them, but none state what amp model they're using.
Also, how well does the Plasma Cutter work? I'm sure it's not cutting through much more then 3/8" steel but if it does that effectively, I can live with that.
I see he now has an AC/DC machine (can now do aluminum) for $800. I'd really like to have a plasma cutter but if the plasma cutter isn't all that great, I'd just go ahead and spring for the AC/DC machine now and try to get me a plama cutter later.
TIA

Keep in mind the 30amp unit Hotrex and I have doesn't really cut over 3/16 very well. I think the 40 amp unit would do a bit better on the plasma end of things.

Yeah, I looked over Eghey and came across the place selling New EconoTIG 150's complete with foot pedal, torch, clamp and regulator. They sell it for $1,338 shipped to your front door.
So I E-mailed Mr. Adams of SmileyDonuts and asked him for a refund (since my unit hadn't been shipped out) I offered him $50 to cover his listing and selling fee and he accepted.
I really wanted a foot pedal amperage control and the Smiley unit doesn't offer that. So the extra $450 or so that I ended up adding to the cost of the Miller eats up the extra money I had saved for a Plasma Cutter. I'll get a Plasma Cutter in Febuary after I pay the HOA dues, school and property taxes in January.
Now I'll own a Miller TIG, A Hobart MIG and a lowly Craftsman FluxCore (that Craftsman is got me started welding back in 97-98 though, lol )
Thanx for the candor/comment about the Miller. It's really what I prefer as well, just didn't look over the the 'Bay well enough I guess.

Oh Yeah

Re: Smiley Tools Welder.............What Amperage/Model Do You Own??

Well an UpDate 8)

Did some interweb browsing and found that the Miller Econo TIG got nothing but bad reviews ( this coming from the Miller Forum and the more populous Hobart Forum ). I considered the SD180 but it weighs close to 300 pounds and it's an energy hog (read huge light bill!!)! Looked into the Thermal Arc 180 TIG set-up as they got good reviews from a few on Hobart forums but the $1600 price tag for it wasn't sitting right with me (I'd just as well pony up the $300 and get the Miller 200 inverter machine )
I got in touch with Mr. Adams from SmileyDonuts and he hooked me up with the same 200 amp AC/DC unit with an Auto Darkening helmet for $654 shipped to my door (they got to my house this morning) ;D

So, I'm happy now. Got the unit for a great price (with a helmet) and I have plenty left to buy a plasma cutter as well.

What's the spec on those 200A AC/DC units? Is it on/off HF start like the plasma combo, etc.

Not sure, I'm in Nor Cal and the welder is at my house in Fresno (suburb of Houston). Not to concerned with the on/off, I have no problem building a pedal or thumb control for it.

How did you get him to swing that deal. I may be interesdted in an AC/DC for that price. I'm willing not to recieve the Plasma too if I can tig aluminum.

He's been nothing but a pain in the ass with me about shipping and ----.
