I was just worried about burning something out, but I've varied the amperage while my buddy was welding one time to mess with him, 40amps to 120amp back and forth and nothing went wrong, just fear the long time results. But if something goes wrong, it's not my only plasma, we never use it for that as we have a Hypertherm 380 also, and I'll then buy a Miller or TA
