can u say over kill

sgoertz 03-15-2007 05:21 PM

Re: Recent pita fab job

Um you call it over kill when we are going for 850++ whp ;)
The turbo alone will support 800whp then we toss the bottle on for even more powa

This is all untill the crazy built motor gets done (will use gt47r 1500whp turbo ;))

Re: Recent pita fab job

Yep I am talking to my old man about making the dies to do the stamping on intake plenums and these (in future my 3-4" flared downpipes will have this fancy flare in the bend not infont)
Will just have to weld the 2 halves together then it is done and perfect withing .001 of an inch lol

Ya, but the source of oxygen from the N20 doesn't use the intercooler piping, but since you mentioned the GT47, well ---- you'll need it.

Re: Recent pita fab job

4" is overkill.

sgoertz 03-17-2007 12:13 AM

Re: Recent pita fab job

4" might be overkill for the typical setup making 850 whp but the typical setup isnt also trying to hold a nice flat trq curve to 9k and beyond

That is the big reason for the
2" primary manifold
4" downpipe
4" chargepipes
90mm tb
huge intake manifold (we are actually redesigning it with something that will preform alot better and be setup with 2 sets of 1600cc injectors and direct port no2 ;))
Got my 2nd bosch 850whp pump on order to help with the fuel needs to
(if anyone cant catch the drift we are getting the car ready for straight alchy ;))

Making big power down low is ez but holding your trq in the high rpms is alot of back pressure problems (which I should have no issues with)

This part didnt quite work the way I wanted
so I did a 2.5" - 3" flared 90 also (this was ez as hell compared to that 2.5- 4")
And cut the 2.5"-4" down to a 3-4"

Will have lots of cool pics up next weekend of the downpipe done, hot side charge pipe, dumptube done, and the rear subframe out getting the new rearend mounts made and hopefully be starting on the fuel cell for the trunk

the piping will be .45" bigger than the TB. Anyone with a 90mm TB would have used the same size pipe! :6

Good luck using more than 600 of it.

Anybody that has ever owned or has seen a 90mm tb would know it has 4" od and is tapered inside....

I will vouch for the 90mm t-body. I have one in my hands two-three times a week. 4 inch is the OD.

Some simple math would tell you that.

90mm / 2.54mm/1" = 3.54"

SO,

the problem lies in the fact that 90mm is the inside diameter and what you need to match up is the outside.

Unless the thickness of the TB is a 1/4".

Madmax, aka math boy. You are so smart with your little math problem. In the bottom picture look above the Alternator, you will see the t-body. I assure the size of pipe-hose is 4 inch that goes to the t-body. Sorry I don't have a better picture uploaded.

Yes I have about 300-350 more pictures, thanks for asking. I'm not trying to get into James way in this thread. I have lots of respect for his work and his time for posting cool projects that he has going at a young age. I posted that picture of the car that we built last winter, because of educational reason. Next week when I am reading a post I don't want to hear the wrong information because someone saw this internet Einstein E=Mc+stupid.

Randy
PS the car has a 100 channel telemetry setup on it, no hot air at speed, because we are forcing air from the front of the car.
