Default question on welding gas

im abit confused on what type of gas i should buy, because they tell me there is straight argon and theres the mix. I mean what kind of gas do i need to weld both aluminum and stainless steel. I know this sounds like a noob question, but i would really appreciate the help.

GMAW has loooooooots of different gases. C25 is the most common for mild steel. Pure argon for AL. Trimix for stainless steel........theres a pretty long list of em.

if you want to do both AL and SS then plain argon is fine...

For aluminum GMAW you need argon. For SS, Argon won't work so well.

We use full Argon on the miller synchrowave 180sd for Aluminum and Stainless and We use an Argon / Co2 mix for the Mig. The Co2 allows it to burn a bit hotter and gets better penetration because of this.
