Thumbs up oil pump

Just put a new cam/gears/lifters/rods in a 63 Galaxie 352. When timing the engine I pulled the distributor out and the oil pump drive shaft fell to the oil pan.

is there an advantage on 24v over the 12v pump? also i noticed this seems to be the same oil pump they use on squires turbo system. is there any way to calculate how much oil you need to be able to pump. on the squires turbo system it said it shoots oil back to valve cover when i thought it should go into the oil pan at its highest point? very interested in this pump anyone have issues with reliability?

i would be carefull about putting oil back through the valve cover.you don't want to over fill the cover if it can't drain quickly enough.i don't know alot about diesels but wouldn't a holley fuel pump with a regulator work ok ?like i said i don't know alot about diesels but with a regulator you can change the flow rate if need be.it might work.
