Nothing fancy but cheap
Since my wife goes to school fulltime works just 12 hours a week at her internship and I pay the mortgage, car payments and everything else. My funding for my hatch is pretty limited for the time being for buying parts for it. So like Warren G once said "Gotta be handy with the steel,If you know what I mean, earn your keep
Fabricators! Mount up!" lol So I hit up my maintance guy at work on scrap steel and stuff like that. I've got simple stuff at home like a simple HF mig, chopsaw, and other simple power tools. I have spare idle time at work with my machine running to think of ideas on parts to make. With an amble supply of cardboad I mock things up first with cardboard then trace it out scrap steel to cut out. Everything used I either had around the house or got from the scrap metal bin at work for free. I can also get nuts, bolts and simple stuff like that also for free. So since the there's no tophat on the rear shock for the 86's I was kind of leary on having it attach to just that until I looked through my Hyper Rev book looking at different rear strut bars to see if anyone makes any that attach that like and notice that a couple of companies do like Techno Spirit and Dog Fight Pro. So I felt pretty good to use that to mount to. I had an old carbon/aluminium easton hockey stick to hack up to use as the bar. I've actually felt some rear strut tubes that flex more then the easton shaft so I wasn't worried about the flexing since it was a very stiff shaft to start out with anyway since I'm not one for a very flexible stick. I used the section of the blade that go into the shaft and cut that off and then cut that in half and put those at each end where it'll attach to give it more support where the bolt goes through to keep it from getting crushed once I tighten it down. All in all for a free one off carbon fiber very light and stiff rear strut bar that I made with my bare hands is priceless. I'm getting some decals made up since I'm making some other stuff. 4 link and panhard(not from hockey sticks..lol.) The 4 link will be made of the highest of quaility since it's not something I don't wanna skimp on parts with since it that would go it wouldn't be pretty along with the panhard. But it's still be less then half of what any company sells them for and will look and perform the same.
What I wanted the mount to look like that I made from cardboard
Started out with just 4 3" diameter 1/8" steel circle from a 3" holesaw and a rectangular 2"x5" piece of 1/8th steel plate
My massive workshop..lol. 1 car garage with my 850 that basically take up the whole thing. Give me a 3 ft from my toolchest to the bumper if that and then 4 ft from my lift to the air compressor that's next the other wall and you do the math. can you say cramped. The 850 doesn't run so moving that pig isn't really an option that I want to tackle on a daily basis..or fixing it right now..lol

Tubing for the 4 link and panhard.. 6061-T6 aluminum 1" O.D. 3/4" RH and LH thread knurled and wrench flats for adj. I took the longest bar for the panhard and took it over the knee and couldn't flex it at all.

There are cheap one like that but require you to drill holes into your shock tower to mount it. This just bolts right on. Plus the satisfaction knowing that only one exist and that I made it myself and not just bought somewhere knowing that 6.3 million other people have it.
