Re: notched my block today

hey just to let you know i ahve never used the tuner toys brnad rods but i did use eagles in a d motor jus the other day and i had to grind out part of the girdle inbetween caps for clearence of the rod bolts so i just wanted to gie you a heads up that you may have to do that.

Re: notched my block today

I've never actually measured exactly how much has to come out, but I believe it's just a fucken pubic hair of clearance is all that's needed. Did you do that with a hatchet? :-[

you have to take a shitload out of the crank gurdle too.. it sucks huge cock.

Re: notched my block today

anyone have pics of what they took out of the girdle

TGrant 03-21-2006 12:22 PM

Re: notched my block today

I didnt have to take any out of my girdle. You need atleast .050 clearance between your rods and the block.

man this sounds like some ---- i would do. just can't wait huh? it's a bummer being that anxious. oh well, you'll figure out if you notched it far enough when you get the rods

Re: notched my block today

def. not far enough. I just threw some tuner toy rods in my d-series and I notched them deeper than that.

Re: notched my block today

wait and check the block when you get your rods (put them on the crank and spin them and check your clearence). when i did my build (i had eagle rods, zc block) i called eagle to ask how much do i need to knotch, believe it or not they said no 2 blocks are the same.(and then they told me to do the test fit)

1/2" up and to the side. make sure u clean it well. ;D

staticchmbr 03-31-2006 03:27 PM

Re: notched my block today

endyne says 1/4" up the sleeve, 1/4-1/2" side to side, and 1/4" deep

now when you guys say take ---- off the girdle..was that because the rods were hitting, or because there wasn't enough clearance, so you did it to be safe?

Re: notched my block today
