I'm sorry I asked such a stupid question! Man. I'm such an idiot. I should have known everything about this type of bike, because I build and SEE bagged bikes all day long, so I should have remembered that that happens.. Man... sometimes I amaze myself at how forgetful I can be.

My motorcycle experience ends with me working on my own sportbikes. I'm not into choppers. Common sense will tell you a couple things about that chain.
1) nobody would ever try to ride a bike with a chain that loose.
B) since he hand built that bike, I'm sure he knows enough not to ride it like that and he will fix it before he rides.
3) its obvious with where the pivot point is of the swing arm and the front sprocket location that it will get tighter as the suspension extends.
