and what happens when you wear flannel when welding.

i wasn't even welding, i walked away to go dunk the header in some water, and im like wtf, my leg is warm?

i look down to find my shirt on fire. dampened it out while trying to rip it off (tip: snap buttons only, not hole buttons will aid in this), got it out, still had it on, then realized that the melted plastic had caught my pants on fire. bout the size of a cd case where its red (first degree) and only one spot where hot molten plastic gave me 2nd degree burns

At least your header turned out fairly decent... Also, welding in 100% cotton is recommended.

its much quieter than the donut element oem filter. plus it flows better. a little jbweld on the choke rod hole and a thicker rubber gasket its its boost ready

Same thing happened to me welding the upper hoop on the cage. I stop, flip my helmet up, and i'm thinking that the weld is putting off a lot of heat. I could feel it on my face. Looked down and my shoulder was on fire.

stupid ----, i said it wasn't rust.

ziebart undercoat = worst in the world. id have better luck driving into 5gal buckets of roofing tar at 65mph to undercoat my truck and have it last, than have it ziebarted. btw, it came ziebarted when i bought it

Re: new header for the 22r... and a downside to welding in flannel

The good thing about cotton is that it doesn't melt when it burns. Imagine if you had polyester on and it caught fire. It would melt to your skin. That's why cotton is reccomended.
