well i finally bought a 3'' exhaust kit from vsr for my hb. I was wondering what have you guys used for mufflers on 3'' system? I want something pretty quiet but more hp than my 2.5'' system. Any thoughts?

 

what size is your dp if your turbo? if your not turbo, why do you have a 3 inch exhaust? imo, if your exhuast is bigger than your dp, then you loose horsepower and torque. im gonna keep mine 2.5 inch all the way back when i got turbo.

 

cherry bomb + magnaflow straight through. The turbo itself quiets down the exhaust immensely too.

 

You sure about that? I've heard, minimize restriction, period. Backpressure doesn't matter with turbochargers. There's no point going larger than the dp, but I don't think it matters as long as the exhaust isn't SMALLER than the dp.

 

that's my understanding as well. any restriction makes the turbo spool slower.

 

i have Kteller 3in i hacked the back end off my apexi ws2. Cut a 3 in hole in it welded an autozone 3in id/3in od to it and clamped it on quite at idle and when driveing untill i beat on it heres my vid reving 5 grand

 

my dp is 3'', im looking for 300-350 hp with my built z6

3" is way overkill for your power goals. 2.5" most likely you wont ever outgrow 2.5"
