new down pipe (now with housing pics)
I was bored today at the shop, so I decided to make a new down pipe with a "v" band flange.
its a 3" vband flange with a 3.5" pipe not the best welding, but it will work. lol ;) |
Re: new down pipe
one more from the other side

Re: new down pipe
Looks great to me.

Re: new down pipe
gangsta.. you should grind the outside like you did on inside ;) I hate the whitey bends, but sometimes it the only option for a super tight radius.
|
Re: new down pipe
thats why I did it. I only have 3.5" between my clutch slave and my turbo flange. but im gona cut it and weld a v band on to the turbo housing so ill have an extra .5" to play with. ;)

Your just mad you don't have a bend named after you. :-* |

Re: new down pipe
im with you guys on that one too. I guess Jeff has to come up with something else to be named after him. ;) lol

Re: new down pipe
ive seen this method that you guys call "whitey" bends, lol. it makes sense for super tight bends. but i was thinking what if you did a whitey bend with an already mandrel bent pipe. so each section is a curved peice rather then a straight one. how would that work out? anyone ever tried it? id think you could get even tighter bends that way and they'd be more smooth.
that piece you made looks good |
Re: new down pipe
can i have it?jp

Re: new down pipe
bringing this thread back from the dead, but I got updates. lol. :)
I cut the exhaust housing and welded a "v" band flange to it. Im so proud of this one, since is my first time welding cast, didn't know how was going to turn out. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...2_298_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...2_299_full.jpg |
