ok, first of all ill get a pic as soon as i can, prob later tonight, but do you think you could make a head pipe for my yz450f? the stock ones and even aftermarket ones r junk, way way too thin plus look like ---- and cost way way too much, its bascially just a u bend coming from the head and about a foot or so back, id prob have to send u a stock pipe right? to compared and make your design from? im sure u guys could do this, u make anything else plus im willing to pay for everything, let me know. heres a couple pics not the best but u get the idea.

I like the fact you think I know what I'm doing! Your best bet is to see if Aaron or James has any time to do that. The guys that work with 16ga are your best bet.

If you could send over the stock pipe, We can definately do it for you. what material do you want it? Also how tight are the tolerances as to where the bend goes? Do you flanges welded on etc?

i think your best bet would be to send it to engloid. he is one of the best fabricator's i've ever seen. :y
material: titanium would probably be best but the cost would be exponential. stainless would probably be my choice aside from ti. you need to specify what size pipe you want to run. you should do some research on the burns stainless site on exhaust theory before you decide what to do. |

i just dont like the brown look the stainless pipes ive seen have after the heats got to them, maybe if its thicker it wouldnt discolor?

it will always discolor, You can paint it or have it jet coated, then it will be whatever color you want.

its called r&d homo, these comanies like pro circuit, big gun, fmf, ect all have hrs and hrs of dyno testing tied up in their header pipes and exahaust systems,. lookat all the pro riders and factory teams, thery all use off the shelf pieces, mainly the white brothers carbon pro and the new fmf ti 4

1 or 2 hp becomes a big deal when your motor is only producing between 44 and 48 whp.

remember these guys arent just looking to make peak power, many of these systems are designed to taylor to a guys riding style.
these pipes are used more to shift the power band up or down in alot of cases. that is where the r&d comes in. the stock header pipe should be perfectly fine for what your doing. go to a local pro race and see what the pros use. most of these guys do not modify their bikes whatsoever except for reworked suspension. these days a stock bike offers way more go than the average rider needs. its about utilizing the power you already have. you dont use even 60 percent of hat you have, so why not spend the money on something worthwhile like better tires or reworking your suspension. |

it already has rg3 revalved suspension im not looking to make anymore power, it already has plenty, just something that is the exact same in design only a hell of alot stronger.

chances are it happens, they r paper thin and piles of ----, fuckn another 450 kicks up a rock and it tings that mother fucker and its done. when a bike goes down and the only thing stopping the thing from being perfectly flat on it side is the handle bar, i think the head pipe is very very vonerable or however the fukkk u spell it

i race, and ive seen plenty of ------ hairy crashes. and ive only seen a 4 stroke exhaust get fucked up once, and it wasnt the header pipe.
you worry too ------- much, my fmf sst pipe on my cr looks liek a ------ golf ball from 450 roost, but wtf, you ride the bike, ---- happens. |

yea and every dint and ding results in lost power, my friends uncle dumped over his crf450 and crushed the big titanium pro circuit head pipe, looks like a goddam maul hit it, its only a matter of time b4 they start making them strong, maybe ill have the first and everyone else will want them, either way its like the dif between shitty ass renthal handle bars and my pro tapers, when my bike goes down that last ------- thing i have to worry about is my handle bars, now if i have the renthal thats a dif story, i broke a pair in two and it wasnt even a bad crash at all.
