cool project.

i actually started saving parts to RWD my EF hatch in about 5 years. im gonna use an R154 supra tranny and 8" toyota 4x4 rear end (tons of gear and locker options, plus ive got 3 of them and the axle shafts stand up to a lot of abuse)

it'll either be the K24 block with K20a head and a homefab adapter to the R154, or ive got a 3RZ sitting here too (2.7L tacoma 4cylinder) but i dont like the price on performance parts, or the cam over bucket business. whatever. someday.

Now, let this thread go back to S2000 powered CRXs. If anyone has a Porsche question direct it via PM to Hitchhikkr, because he is a Porsche master tech and does not suck at what he does, or make a thread and link him to it.

Wait until you read the engineering bullshit written to explain why Porsche went from axles raking backward to axles raking forward on those cars. No enthusiast has yet to be able to quantify and handling difference between suspensions; sometimes what you learn is a waste of goddamn time and without use.

Shitty Weisach axle is shitty. I love the fucktards that put coil-overs on their 944's and wonder why they wont hang a corner anymore. :P

2.5/2.7/3.0 need baffles in the pans to be reliable. Its the first step in racecardom for a 9XX.

Ill give the cars this though, a stock one with some r-compounds will make you look like a goddamn superhero at a tight radius track. The ****** has one hell of a polar moment, think about swinging a broom around your head holding it at the end of the handle. Thats a 944.

Why not use the w58+3rz? an EF is light enough you wont break stuff like the supras do. Less rotational mass than a R154 too. There was a guy I breifly spoke with a few years ago, I think his name was Luise or something. Busting out 8.5X in the 1/4 with a 2RZ in an ae86. As I recall before he built the bottom, he made something like 450+hp reliably. Most of the retards in taco's dont tune their ---- when they boost them.

Ive never seen under the valve cover of a 3rz, but the 2rz cams have one helluva base circle. Easy regrinds ftw. Couple of tweeks here and there along with a bit of extra piston-to-wall clearance would make a stout stock-based reliable turbo engine.
