I think it's just that upper coolant hose is getting heatsoaked and maybe that's where your overheating issue coming from. I dunno just my idea. Maybe try getting some header wrap or some of that heat reflecting aluminium tape.

 

I was cavitating the water pump... I had to change the routing of the lines os it would stop sucking air in and vaporlocking the cooling system. I ran the system for 3500 miles before buying a 330 HP Audi S4 for a new DD, so its parked for now... Im going to make it a hard core RWD track car.
