Ditto!

Re: my first welding on a turbine housing
wow, nice job.. was there a complicated process to this or was it fairly strait forward?

Re: my first welding on a turbine housing
Most turbine housings are easy...The vast majority are cast steel and not cast iron. Good job, although it looks like a 2.5" flange would have worked better on that particular housing. :)

as for welding cast, i preheat the whole casting on my hot plate for an hour or so to get it nice and toasty, then i use 309l filler. |
Re: my first welding on a turbine housing
damn, that looks nice. if i send you my housing with a v band set will you do that along with my d seies intake flange?

with the 2.5 to vband youd want a transition so take the 4 bolt flange, transition, and vband flange and thats going to move the dp out another 3" or so. This way is cleaner and less work. |
Re: my first welding on a turbine housing
that looks good. I have done it a few times, and has worked verry well.
