MIGing stainless

i ran into a small problem the other day when i went to mount my turbo ----. my DP was like...2 inches from my radiator so ive got to figure something out. i have a mig, some stainless wire and a bottle of argon. ive welded some stuff with it on some gutter machines for one of my customers but nothing that ever had to hold a bunch of load like a turbo. im thinking about getting on the horn with ace and getting some 90s and flanges from weir. im pretty sure itll hold but i figured i would give someone the chance to tell me im ------- up befor i spend the money. i appriciate it

I've used my fluxcore welding stainless and it worked fine. I actually was cleaner and less splatter then mild steel.

what did you build with it? how well did it hold. i reckon its like any other thing if you get good penetration and clean material itll hold right? the only thing im kinda worried about is the collector the rest i know i can do

yea i felt like i would. ive welded a pertty good bit of stainless with my mig mostly the runners and bracing inside of the machines that keep the material going straight and from crinkling in certain spots it. turned out pretty nice like a lot better than i expected it to. but i appriciate the reasurance

I thought when "miging" stainless you need to use a tri-mix.

no no i mean like the flange on my turbo where the DP is supposed to bolt is like 2 inches away its like

o IIIIIII
turbo^ ^radiator

the turbine is lined up almost center with the rad. there is no possible way even with pie cuts to make it fit. its on a drag manifold and they cock the turbo sideways a little bit like pass side towards the front of the car so with the compressor on the pass side it doesnt hit the tranny. i want the compressor on the drivers side for ease of charge pipe and dp running but apparently i just need to turn it around. it worked fine in my other car when i had the gangster lean on my radiator but im trying to make this car half way legit. i figure hell ive built everything else in the kit that i can why not the manifold...?

Don't think. I go with the if it's steel, it can be welded together and always works. I lay a row beads down and then hit it with a hammer. Does it need more birdshit or is this little pile strong enough? lol. They should call fluxcore..fuckhardcore cause it can make miracles happen. The strength of birdshit beads baffles all. Just ask Jago. :6
